If you've ever watched a Hollywood film with a casino scene, chances are you've seen a roulette wheel spinning slowly while everyone holds their breath waiting for the ball to land. That's the core appeal of roulette — a simplicity that carries unmatched tension. At RTM88, American Roulette brings that very experience straight to your screen, playable from home, the office, or anywhere using your smartphone.
American Roulette Basics You Need to Know
American Roulette uses a wheel with 38 slots — numbers 1 to 36 (alternating red and black), plus two green slots: 0 and 00. It's this extra "00" slot that sets American Roulette apart from European Roulette, which has only a single "0". While this means the house edge is slightly higher in the American version (5.26% versus 2.7% for European), it also unlocks an exclusive bet unavailable in any other version — the Five-Number Bet, covering 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 simultaneously.
At RTM88, you can bet on a single number, a group of numbers, a colour (red or black), whether the number is odd or even, or whether it falls in the lower half (1–18) or upper half (19–36). This breadth of betting options makes American Roulette suitable for all types of players — from beginners looking for a simple wager to seasoned players employing more complex betting strategies.
Popular Betting Strategies in the RTM88 Community
It should be noted from the outset — no strategy can change the underlying mathematics of American Roulette. Every spin of the wheel is a completely random, independent event, and RTM88's RNG system has been independently verified to ensure this. That said, there are several bet management approaches widely used within the RTM88 Malaysia player community that can help you play in a more structured and disciplined manner.
Martingale Strategy: This is the most widely discussed strategy. The concept is straightforward — you start with a small bet on a 1:1 wager (such as red or black), and each time you lose, you double your bet. When you win, you return to your original stake. The logic is that a single win will recover all previous losses and net a profit equal to your original bet. At RTM88, this strategy works best at tables with limits that allow several doublings from the initial stake.
D'Alembert Strategy: More conservative than Martingale. You increase your stake by one unit after a loss and decrease it by one unit after a win. This caps your maximum loss in a single session compared to Martingale, making it a safer choice for RTM88 players working with a limited bankroll.
Outside Betting Strategies: Many new RTM88 players start with outside bets — red/black, odd/even, or high/low — because the winning odds are close to 50% (technically 47.37% in American Roulette due to the 0 and 00). While the payout is only 1:1, this approach lets you play longer on the same bankroll and build confidence before moving on to riskier but more rewarding single-number bets.
How to Use Statistics Wisely at RTM88
RTM88 displays the last 20 numbers drawn within the American Roulette interface, along with red/black statistics and both "hot" (frequently drawn) and "cold" (long overdue) numbers. Many players are drawn to betting on hot numbers or "waiting" for cold ones to appear — this is known academically as the Gambler's Fallacy.
Statistically, every spin of the American Roulette wheel at RTM88 is an independent event — a number that just came up has no bearing on what comes next. That said, using live statistics to spot patterns within a session can give your bets a sense of direction and make the overall experience feel more deliberate. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
The Five-Number Bet — The American Roulette Exclusive Most Players Don't Know About
This is a bet you won't find in any other version of roulette on any other platform — it's completely unique to American Roulette. The Five-Number Bet, also known as the "Basket Bet", covers five numbers at once — 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3 — with a single wager. It pays out at 6:1, with a winning probability of 13.16%.
Many RTM88 players use the Five-Number Bet as a complement to their outside betting strategy. For example, they place a larger bet on red/black and a smaller bet on the Five-Number Bet as "insurance" in case the ball lands on 0 or 00 — which causes all outside bets to lose. It's a smart approach to softening the blow of losses on the green slots, which are the primary source of the house edge in American Roulette.
How to Deposit and Start Playing American Roulette at RTM88
Getting started at RTM88 is one of the quickest and easiest processes in Malaysia. You can deposit using Touch 'n Go eWallet, DuitNow, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, or FPX services such as Maybank2u and CIMB Clicks. With a very accessible minimum deposit of RM20, you can dive into American Roulette without committing a large upfront sum.
After depositing, funds arrive within 1–3 minutes. Head to the Casino section, find American Roulette, choose a table that suits your betting limits and start your session. When you win, withdrawals to your Malaysian eWallet or bank account are processed in just 2–5 minutes — no lengthy waiting times like those experienced on many other platforms.
American Roulette vs Other Casino Games at RTM88
RTM88 offers a wide selection of high-quality casino games. American Roulette has its own unique appeal that sets it apart from slots. Unlike playing slots such as Reactoonz or Star Bounty — where you wait for specific symbols to line up — American Roulette delivers a more interactive and social experience. You can place multiple bets in a single spin, follow live statistics in real time, and feel the tension build in those final seconds before the ball comes to rest.
Compared to Live Fan Tan, which uses buttons and draws on Asian tradition, American Roulette brings a distinctly Western style and atmosphere. For Malaysian players who enjoy variety, alternating between both games is the best way to keep a long gaming session fresh and entertaining. RTM88 also offers bonuses applicable across all game types — including American Roulette — making it the most flexible platform for Malaysian players who want more than one experience from a single account.
For new players who have never tried American Roulette before, RTM88 offers a free demo mode where you can practise, familiarise yourself with all bet types, and experience the pace of the wheel — without risking any real money. It's the best way to learn by doing before you start placing real-money bets at RTM88 Malaysia.
